The J&J Flea Market Annual Music Festival will serve as a tribute to flea market founder and previous owner, Jerry Farmer, who was also the owner of the Athens Night Club and Music Venue. Farmer, who was dubbed the city’s country music kingpin, put Athens on the musical map, bringing such famous acts as Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Jr., and Conway Twitter, among others, to the city.
Rob Sieban, President, CEO and co-owner of United Flea Markets, the parent company of J&J Flea Market, said it’s an honor to follow in Jerry’s footsteps. “Jerry set a musical precedent here in Athens and we couldn’t be more pleased to continue the tradition,” he said. “We’re thrilled to welcome the community to the first of what is sure to be an exciting yearly event.”
Visitors are welcome to come early to shop and stay for the entire day. “There’s always so much excitement and energy at J&J Flea Market,” added Sieban. “It really does make for a wonderful outing for the entire family.”
