United Flea Markets Acquires Ramona Flea Market in Jacksonville, Florida

February 21, 2018, Denver – United Flea Markets, owners of the largest portfolio of flea markets in the industry, announced today that it has acquired the Ramona Flea Market in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1971, the Ramona Flea Market is North Florida’s largest flea market, encompassing 107 acres and offering goods, services and products from more than 700 vendors.

The acquisition adds a third Florida property to United Flea Markets’ rapidly-expanding portfolio. The company also owns and operates the Flamingo Island Flea Market in Bonita Springs and the T&W Flea Market in Pensacola, as well as three others around the country.

Rob Sieban, President, CEO and Co-Owner of United Flea Markets and former Chairman and President of the National Flea Market Association, said he’s delighted to welcome the highly-respected Ramona Flea Market to the family. “The Ramona Flea Market is a long-standing and thriving business noted for its impressive vendor and buyer relationships,” he said. “We look forward to building on the market’s past success while positioning it for the next forty-plus years of growth.”

Ralph Waller, departing owner of the Ramona Flea Market, said he was enthusiastic about the property vision proposed by United Flea Markets. “The Ramona Flea Market is a special place and it was critical to us that the new owner not only share our passion, but also act as a strong steward for it,” he said. “United Flea Markets brings to the operation deep industry knowledge paired with a vision that respects the past while building for the future. It’s a great fit.”

The Ramona Flea Market deal includes an additional 25,000 square feet of event space, ideally suited for weddings, corporate events, family reunions and other gatherings. The market will continue to operate its normal shoppers’ hours of Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
